The Waterloo Homecoming is hosted annually on the last Friday and Saturday of August on the Monroe County Courthouse grounds as well as Main St, Mill St. and 3rd St. The event is hosted by the Waterloo Optimist, Metzger-Crook VFW of Waterloo and the Waterloo Lions. There is food and beverage booths ran by mostly local organizations, rides and games for children, vendor booths and music both Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday at 5pm is the Waterloo Homecoming Parade that features local organizations, businesses and Ainad Shrine entries paid for by all of the businesses that pay a small fee to be in the parade. There are also awards given to the Best Overall entry, Most Original entry and Best Musical entry.
